About Skycare Lawncare
Professional Lawn Care Built on Family, Craftsmanship, and Community
Every business has a beginning.
Some begin with a business plan.
Some begin with a loan.
Skycare Lawncare began with a lawn mower that was bigger than I was.
Long before Skycare Lawncare became a trusted lawn care company serving Fort Worth and the surrounding Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, it started in Jackson, Mississippi, with family, hard work, and lessons that shaped who I am today.
This isn’t just the story of a lawn care company.
It’s the story of a legacy. (682) 231 – 1791
It Started With a Lawn Mower Bigger Than Me
Growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, I was blessed to be surrounded by people who believed in teaching young people responsibility instead of simply talking about it.
The first person who ever gave me the opportunity to help cut grass was my grandfather’s brother, Icing Cameron, known by everyone in our family as Uncle Icing.
I can still remember standing behind that lawn mower.
The only problem was…
I was too small to reach the handle.
Instead of grabbing the top like everyone else, I had to hold onto the lower crossbar in the middle while Uncle Icing guided the mower and did most of the pushing. I wasn’t strong enough to push it myself, but he never made me feel like I couldn’t learn.
He simply gave me an opportunity.
That simple act planted a seed that has stayed with me my entire life.
Before long, I wasn’t just helping anymore.
I was earning ten and fifteen dollars cutting yards around the neighborhood.
To most people, that doesn’t sound like much.
To me, it meant responsibility.
It meant trust.
It meant pride.
Those first few yards taught me that hard work always leaves something behind that money can’t buy—confidence.
Learning From a Master Craftsman
Around that same time, another person was quietly teaching me lessons that would stay with me forever.
My grandfather, Willie H. Cameron Sr., was an incredible upholsterer and craftsman.
Watching him work was something I’ll never forget.
He’d come home dressed professionally in a suit and tie.
When it was time to work, the jacket came off.
The sleeves rolled up.
The cufflinks came undone.
Then he’d get down on his knees and begin restoring furniture with incredible patience and precision.
Those old couches weren’t lightweight furniture.
They were solid hardwood.
Heavy.
Built to last.
Yet my grandfather handled every piece with care as if it belonged to his own family.
When it came time to deliver a finished piece back to a customer, he treated it with respect.
No scratches.
No shortcuts.
No excuses.
What stood out wasn’t just the quality of his craftsmanship.
It was the smiles on his customers’ faces.
Seeing how proud they were—and how proud he was of doing honest work—made something click inside of me.
I realized that the greatest reward wasn’t getting paid.
It was earning someone’s trust.
That feeling has stayed with me ever since.
Today, whether I’m mowing a lawn, trimming shrubs, cleaning up a yard, or helping improve someone’s curb appeal, I still chase that same smile I saw on my grandfather’s customers years ago.
Lessons That Extended Beyond Lawn Care
As I got older, another man became an important influence in my life.
Our neighbor, Mr. Freddie Paige Sr.
He didn’t just teach me how to cut grass.
He taught me how to work.
He trusted me to help renovate his home.
I helped convert his carport into a family room.
I learned home maintenance.
Repairs.
Painting.
Handyman work.
Property maintenance.
General labor.
And, of course, lawn care.
Those weren’t just chores.
They were opportunities to build confidence, learn responsibility, and understand the value of showing up when someone depends on you.
Back then, neighbors invested in young people.
They taught patience.
Respect.
Craftsmanship.
Integrity.
Those kinds of mentors are becoming harder to find today, and I’ll always be grateful for the ones who invested in me.
A Lifetime of Helping Others
As word spread throughout my family that I was dependable, just about every aunt and uncle seemed to have a project waiting for me.
Sometimes it was mowing grass.
Sometimes it was moving furniture.
Sometimes it was hauling heavy items.
Sometimes it was fixing broken things.
Installing appliances.
Helping with electrical work.
Building.
Repairing.
Cleaning.
Organizing.
If something needed to be done, I was usually the one they called.
Not because I knew everything.
Because they knew I’d give it everything I had.
Looking back now, I realize they weren’t just giving me work.
They were preparing me for the future.
Every yard.
Every project.
Every move.
Every repair.
Every lesson became another brick in the foundation that would eventually become Skycare Lawncare and Sky Is The Limit Moving.

More Than a Business—A Legacy
When people ask where Skycare Lawncare began, they usually expect me to say it started with a business license.
It didn’t.
It started with a little boy holding the middle of a lawn mower because he couldn’t reach the handle.
It continued through the example of a grandfather who believed craftsmanship mattered.
It grew through neighbors who invested their time in teaching a young man how to work with integrity.
Today, every lawn I mow carries a piece of that history.
Every customer becomes part of that story.
Every opportunity is another chance to honor the people who first believed in me.
That’s why Skycare Lawncare isn’t just about cutting grass.
It’s about carrying forward a legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, respect, faith, and service.
Because when you truly care for people, the sky isn’t the limit—it’s only the beginning. Learn About The Sky Family of Services
